Hello community!
On this solar eclipse in Libra I am sharing with each of you my next creation and offering. I would absolutely be delighted and honored for you to join me. It’s going to be a blast, what else could it be?!
As many of you already know, our home flooded for a second time under hurricane Helene, and in the crystalline clarity of losing it all, it became very clear to me that this is what I want to do next.
Hope to see you there. As always, reach out if you have any questions: Travis@TrustPsyche.com
Synastry and Composite Charts: Understanding Relationships with Astrology
25+-hour live & recorded course with Jessica DiRuzza, MFT
Class meets on five Sundays on Zoom from 12-3PM ET on 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24 and 12/1
$589 (early bird ends 10/18)

There are 3 ways to take this course:
- Live in the Zoom classroom
- Parallel with the class in real time, watching the Zoom recording each week
- Afterward as a recorded self-study course
Requirements:
- Live students should have a solid, basic understanding of natal charts, as things become so much more complex when working with more than one natal chart.
- It is highly recommended that live students have previously taken one or more Trust Psyche courses.
- Pre-recorded videos will focus heavily on technique and theory, while live classes will be used for application and thoughtful reflection/shares based on the material presented. If you choose to take the class live, our expectation is that you watch the videos and do the exercises in advance, and show up in class ready to integrate what you learned through participating in Jessica’s demonstrations and through relevant questions.
- This class is for intermediate to advanced practitioners. Beginners are welcome to take it in parallel or recorded.
- For those taking the course recorded, the above are only recommendations.
There will be 3 components to the class:
- Astrological: The step-by-step technique for knowing how to read synastry and composite charts, with multiple weekly exercises & assignments (suggested readings, podcasts, and journaling exercises) to apply this technical knowledge to actual relationships in your life. We will work to fine-tune these practices and to read the archetypal patterns in relationship to gain a thematic & narrative understanding of the human beings in question. Jessica will provide demonstrations of the work in action.
- Psychological: Understanding relationships and relational theory, and providing a counseling framework when working with 2 people.
- Cosmological/metaphysical: Comprehending how all of this is held within a relational & participatory cosmology, with aspects of human relationship mirroring our relationship with the divine. When we study synastry and composite charts combined with a psychological understanding of relationship, this ends up pointing to our relationship to the divine and the cosmology it is all born out of. The personal entails the cosmological, and the cosmological, the personal.
A huge part of living a secure and free life is to be able to be in healthy relationships. The quality of our lives has so much to do with the quality of our relationships. The connections we form with others significantly shape our well-being and growth. In this course, we will explore synastry and composite charts, which reveal the innate patterns, dynamics, and potential between two individuals. Here we can discern gifts, challenges, areas of strength, and places that need support. We can see karmic contracts, possibilities of destiny, the light and shadow—all in service of us becoming more conscious around who we are, and how we are, in all our relations.
We will delve into various types of relationships, including familial bonds such as parent-child dynamics, sibling connections, partnerships, marriages, friendships, and other significant figures in your life. There is no human being on this planet who does not have pain or confusion around at least one relationship in their life. The majority of what people want to talk about are the other people in their lives. Synastry and composite charts provide powerful tools for navigating these connections with greater awareness and skill, helping us to consciously manage the relationships that shape our lives.
As human beings, we are fundamentally relational creatures. Understanding the synastry between two individuals is foundational for grasping our existence, psychology, and relational patterns, which are woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Every birth chart originates from the union of two people, and the child’s birth chart is the parents’ transits at that moment—a coupling of charts that will stay in relationship the entirety of the parents’ and child’s lives. Your synastry with your parents is the background noise of your very life! The parent-child relationship is the fertile ground and template from which every subsequent human relationship springs, and from which your world is born. Understanding this relationship is as paramount as knowing where you live, who you are, and all the rest.
So often, we treat birth charts as isolated entities, disconnected from the relational matrix they arise from—the charts of our parents. However, your birth chart is fundamentally interconnected with the charts of others, forming part of a lineage of relationships rather than existing in isolation. Your birth chart is fundamentally embedded in other charts, isolated neither in time nor space, but part of a whole astrological family system.
Astrology has traditionally focused on natal charts, world transits, and personal transits, while paying little attention to synastry. This lack of focus reflects a cultural shift away from the relational foundation of human existence. We are born from relationships and live our lives in connection with and dependence on others. A feminine revisioning of our worldview and cosmology would place synastry and composite charts at the heart of astrology, acknowledging the central role of relationships in shaping who we are and how the world truly works.
Monotheistic traditions often neglect the feminine aspect of creation, emphasizing singularity over relationship. However, creation inherently requires two. Arguably, the ecological and social crises we face today can be traced to this oversight—a failure to recognize the importance of relational dynamics. This denial of relationship manifests in power imbalances across various domains, from politics to education to healthcare. As Catherine Keller argues in From a Broken Web, until our pronouns for the divine are she, until god is relational, and until we reintroduce a relational understanding into our worldview, we will continue to face these issues. In astrology, the glaring fact that we do not discuss synastry is a reflection of this patriarchal denial of relationship.
I celebrate and affirm all identities, ages, ethnicities, genders, and sexual preferences. I work with people from all around the world, all walks of life, and all approaches to astrology. This course is compatible with all house systems, including whole-sign houses. The manner of reading and techniques used can be applied and transferred to other systems.
