Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen, Trans Folk, and Humans of all Kind(s),
My magnificent husband— the remarkably intelligent, outstandingly wise, and now scholar of western history and philosophy, Travis DiRuzza, will defend his dissertation on Friday, December 6th at 2PM Eastern Time (11AM Pacific). We cordially invite you to come join in on the fun and celebrations of a 25+ year journey of education! Travis will present for approximately forty minutes followed by questions from his committee and you — the public. All are welcome, so please invite your friends! The more the merrier!!
How does the world relate to the divine? Plato proposes the doctrine of participation to describe this complex relationship in which divinity is both a part of the world and yet apart from it. Participation gives rise to philosophical problems and enigmas that are only fully resolved in the course of a 1200-year evolution culminating in the work of Maximus the Confessor. Travis will trace this history of ideas and then explore how the participatory relationship with the divine may serve as a template for our relationships with each other.
I also hear there will be a fascinating and original discussion of participation, archetypes, and astrology in this defense. Travis’ dissertation already has raving reviews. See you there~!
I am delighted about my upcoming course, Astrological
Counseling: How to Run a Successful Professional Practice. We have an amazing
cohort of dedicated astrologers who have come together to study, and I am pleased
by the way the course content has coalesced. The class is half oriented toward
chart interpretation and counseling skills, and half oriented toward strong and
healthy professional business practices.
I currently have one spot remaining for the upcoming course, which begins Sunday, September 8th for 15 weeks online. This course is offered every two years and will not be available for purchase afterward as are all other trustpsyche courses (due to confidentiality of practitioners and clients). If you would like to review the general syllabus to see what will be covered, you can email me directly. I would be happy to share it with you.
This is an opportunity to invest in your business and take
it to the next level, to study closely with me and a group of peers, and to
bring your astrology practice to where you want and need it to be as a thriving
and healthy business. To register or for more information, please email me
directly at Jessica@trustpsyche.com.
I am beyond ecstatic to teach this course, what will be my favorite to teach as it is the heart and soul of what I am to help each of you do – be the best astrologers you can be in this world today. Wherever you may be at in your professional journey now, I will support you fully to be where you want to be with all you offer this world.
You all know how much I love to teach. This upcoming online course is my greatest pride and joy, a master-level course for counseling astrologers to receive individual and group support, reflection, guidance, and supervision around how to be the best astrologer you can be. This course is for anyone who practices astrology professionally and would like to be in community with other practicing astrologers as you grow your practice. My area of expertise is to help you give the best readings you can give, have a thriving professional practice, and run a successful business. There are a couple spots left for this course which begins September 1st and runs for 15 weeks. We will meet as a group each week, work closely with one another, and you will meet with me individually throughout the entire course. For more information click the image above.
Registration opens August 5th. Email me at Jessica@trustpsyche.com to register or for more information.
Travis DiRuzza discusses the evolution of philosophical theories of time and their relevance for astrology, as well as the role of narrative in identity creation through time. Our assumptions about time are the premises underlying our astrology and affect how we practice. Living in a time-directional cosmos has implications for our self-understanding and how we hold our suffering. Other considerations include philosophy of astrology, self-transformation through the storytelling of our lives, ethics, and death, as well as pizza, cities, melodies, Zeno, Boo Radley, Tarot, and more, with applications to chart-reading and life-living. Concluding with a song recorded specially for this occasion.
Please join us on Sunday, June 2nd for the trustpsyche livestream, “Transformations of Time,” where Travis DiRuzza will discuss the relevance of evolving notions of time for astrology, as well as the changes wrought upon each of us as we live through time. Signup for the Zoom link a trustpsyche.com/livestream. Bring your lovely selves, your comments, and questions.
**This livestream and all future livestreams will only air through Zoom. You must register at trustpsyche.com/livestream. If you cannot make it live we post the following Tuesday on trustpsyche YouTube channel.
I am proud to share this music-dance-poetry-art video that Travis created, featuring Soleil Chappelle, Brendan Smith, and Tara Swasti. Travis put together 45 of these videos as part of our online course: Deepen Your Astrological Practice (begin now at trustpsyche.com/#deepen). There is one video for each pair of planets: this one is Mercury-Saturn. We’d love to hear your reactions!
Today VENUS-URANUS conjunction + MERCURY-SATURN trine: an original dance-music-poetry-art video from the astrology course, Deepen Your Astrological Practice, which illustrates Mercury-Saturn in the context of meditations on death. I don’t believe astrology can predict the moment of death (hear from Jessica on this topic in Stream 1). Though Saturn is its symbol, death has less to do with the cosmic archetypes, and more to do with a person’s unique and particular historical existence, here in the realm where mortality has the last word. Death is our inescapable fate, and though our soul lives on, this incarnation only happens once. Our time here is finite, which demands that we honor time as a sacred resource, both for ourselves and for others. For even more poignant than our own death (after which we will have passed into the expansiveness of the life between lives), is the death of others (for which we remain painfully present). Their preciousness in light of their impermanence encourages our right action toward them, illuminating the Saturnian connections between manifestation, time, death, and ethics.
Thank you to the 60+ people who attended the livestream this past Sunday. It is an honor to stand in the fire with each of you.
We look forward to being with you the first Sunday of June the 2nd at 2PM EST for Travis DiRuzza’s talk on the Transformations of Time. A continuation of the Saturn-Pluto talk of this month. To join LIVE you will need to register at www.trustpsyche.com/livestream.
**Please note, we will no longer be streaming LIVE on Facebook or YouTube. However, the video will be posted the following Tuesday on all social media platforms for you to view if you cannot join LIVE.
I am speaking this Sunday, May 5th, at 2PM EST for a free livestream through trustpsyche. I would love to see you there.
You are each invited to my livestream talk on May 5th at 2PM Eastern Time where I will discuss how I understand the current planetary alignments of our time. For those who have seen my Saturn-Neptune talk given at Esalen in 2014, this Saturn-Pluto talk will be of a comparable level of interpretation.
All are welcome. To watch live you can join in at trustpsyche on FB // trustpsyche YouTube channel // or to ask questions via Zoom, signup attrustpsyche.com/livestream.
