I loved recording this 30 minute video on YouTube live on Pluto in the Birth Chart. I share, from a soul level and transpersonal perspective, how I see the archetype of Pluto showing up and expressing itself in aspect to other planets in your birth chart.
I really loved making this Stream this morning with my husband, Travis. We rolled out of bed and made it fresh just for you. We hope you enjoy and it brings some ease and perspective during this wild and powerful times.
Jessica invites Travis DiRuzza onto the podcast to discuss the current Mars-Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto alignment and its relevance for personal and collective themes, such as karma, ancient time, responsibility, incarnation, the current political scene, coronavirus, and the Star of Bethlehem.
Today, January 12th, 2020, is the day so many are talking about. There is a great buzz flying about. Saturn and Pluto have made their exact conjunction (meaning same place in the sky) in the sign of Capricorn, which is ruled by the planet Saturn.
I created this YouTube video last May of 2019 to discuss my understanding, personally and collectively, of this rare planetary alignment. The last time it occurred was in the sign of Libra from 1981-84, meaning Saturn and Pluto make a conjunction roughly every 35-38 years for 3-4 years at a time. It is a longer cycle of time, with both Saturn and Pluto being outer planets, which indicates they are slower moving planets (hence why they come together so rarely and last as long as they do).
It is very important to remember that although most astrologers are focusing on this first exactitude of Saturn and Pluto occurring today, the two planets have been within range of one another for all of 2019 and even back into 2018. This planetary pair will continue to be conjunct the rest of 2020 and fade out into 2021.
Lastly, and I cannot stress this enough, it is much more helpful in understanding this alignment, both for the world and for yourself, if you take in the larger archetypal wave form of Saturn conjunct Pluto already active before today. Your personal life events in correlation to this cycle of time, seen in the coming together of these two celestial bodies, will make more sense in the larger context of what has happened this past year in light of the themes associated with the alignment. Focusing on the day the planets become exact is a ritual of sorts, however, only focusing on today or this month of January as the conjunction beginning is a very (masculine) pointillistic penetration of this moment in time as somehow separate from the days, weeks, and months of this archetypal wave form coming into collective consciousness over the entire past year and even further back.
To be clear, I am in full support of honoring and ritualizing today, January 12, 2020 as the first exact zero degree alignment of these two planets. As a matter of fact, I am on my way now into ceremony. However, I am not at all in agreement that this alignment somehow began today, this month, or even in the very near past. I believe viewing the world transits in such an atomistic manner (with small orbs of influence) comes from an old order of astrological practicer that is not the most helpful in making meaning of both our personal stories and the zeitgeist in correlation to the night sky. This overemphasis on exactitude is like opening to the middle of a book and thinking that that scene can somehow be understood independent of the context of the entire work; or it is like considering the climax of orgasm as all there really is to love-making. Can the climax of anything be understood apart from the build-up and follow-through? Seeing the unfolding of time in a more fluid, wavelike way is much more of a feminine understanding of time (transits) and helps me understand my life in a more relational, coherent, and cohesive way. I will have much more to say about this in my upcoming trustpsyche podcast: Stream.
In the meantime, I send all blessings and prayers for you in this glorious New Year and decade.
The brilliance of the evolutionary impulse seen throughout the universe is the very same impulse that is embedded within your own soul and its desires. In this livestream, Christina Hardy paints a big picture view of the soul’s evolutionary intelligence as reflected in the astrological birth chart. Within this evolutionary context, she focuses on the meaning of the planetary symbols of Pluto, Mars, and the Moon’s Nodes as they describe the soul’s desires, karmic past, and evolutionary intent.
We are grateful for Christina’s presentation this month for the trustpsyche livestream. You can see more about Christina and schedule a reading with her at TranspersonalServices.com.
We are very excited for our guest speaker next month, which we will announce this coming Tuesday!
Christina Hardy has been a practicing astrologer for 16 years. After receiving her Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology at John F. Kennedy University, she studied archetypal astrology for 5 years at the California Institute of Integral Studies with Rick Tarnas. Christina later expanded her practice by studying evolutionary astrology under Kim Marie Weimer for 5 years and is now certified as an evolutionary astrologer. She draws upon both traditions but, in particular, the evolutionary astrological perspective to bring to light the evolutionary intent of the soul for each question, concern, and issue that a client faces. Christina is also a certified Deep Memory Process practitioner (taught by Patricia Walsh) and offers past-life therapy as a tool for healing and understanding one’s present life issues. She draws upon all these traditions to with her heart-centered intuition to illumine the evolutionary intention of the soul, and to help her clients navigate life’s challenges. Travis DiRuzza discusses the evolution of philosophical theories of time and their relevance for astrology, as well as the role of narrative in identity creation through time. Our assumptions about time are the premises underlying our astrology and affect how we practice. Living in a time-directional cosmos has implications for our self-understanding and how we hold our suffering. Other considerations include philosophy of astrology, self-transformation through the storytelling of our lives, ethics, and death, as well as pizza, cities, melodies, Zeno, Boo Radley, Tarot, and more, with applications to chart-reading and life-living. Concluding with a song recorded specially for this occasion.
