Kerri is a philosopher of time, mind, and physics, a professor, writer, and astrologer. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Religion concentrating in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness from California Institute of Integral Studies, where she teaches courses on sacred geometry, modern physics, and the science of temporal perception. Her book-in-progress, The Texture of Time, explores the science of temporal perception against a backdrop personal narrative, interweaving themes of Austin’s natural and cultural history within the larger layers of the evolution of consciousness, neurochemistry, and the physics of time.

In this talk, Kerri will discuss the cycling cosmos overhead, to the ebb and flow of churning creeks, to sleeps, blinks, breaths, heartbeats, and fleeting thoughts, as we exist amidst a vast range of timescales.

We burn at a controlled 98 degrees Fahrenheit, an organized flow of energy, standing still in a moving stream. Here, we create time, with all its loops and twists, hurries and sighs, ploddings and alacrities, magic and misery. This lecture will wind a path through the realms of philosophy, modern physics, neurochemistry, and astrology, exploring what science can tell us about how time emerges through a consciousness in, and of, the cosmos.

Travis DiRuzza discusses the evolution of philosophical theories of time and their relevance for astrology, as well as the role of narrative in identity creation through time. Our assumptions about time are the premises underlying our astrology and affect how we practice. Living in a time-directional cosmos has implications for our self-understanding and how we hold our suffering. Other considerations include philosophy of astrology, self-transformation through the storytelling of our lives, ethics, and death, as well as pizza, cities, melodies, Zeno, Boo Radley, Tarot, and more, with applications to chart-reading and life-living. Concluding with a song recorded specially for this occasion.
