I really loved making this Stream this morning with my husband, Travis. We rolled out of bed and made it fresh just for you. We hope you enjoy and it brings some ease and perspective during this wild and powerful times.
Jessica invites Travis DiRuzza onto the podcast to discuss the current Mars-Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto alignment and its relevance for personal and collective themes, such as karma, ancient time, responsibility, incarnation, the current political scene, coronavirus, and the Star of Bethlehem.
The Astrology of the 2020 Presidential Race: Bernie and Warren. Correlations Episode #34
I am very excited to announce the Correlations Podcast is back on air! Have a listen now.
In this episode of Correlations, Matthew Stelzner and I discuss the astrology for the 2020 presidential race, with a focus on the charts and transits of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. We first look at Warren’s natal chart and transits for her amazing performance at the Las Vegas debate, where she stood next to Mike Bloomberg and called him out on his history of misogyny and racist policies as mayor of New York City. We spend the rest of our time discussing the life and political career of Bernie Sanders, looking at both his natal chart and transits as he rides a wave of unprecedented progressive national support as the frontrunner for the democratic nomination.
This is a seminal work for the fields of psychology, spiritual emergence, and the healing arts. As a psychotherapist, astrologer, and teacher, I experienced on every page a deep sense of connection to the sacred healing journey that Michelle so lucidly describes with heartfelt clarity, deep compassion, and piercing insight. I would like all of my students to read Holding Sacred Space, both for their personal growth, evolution, and healing, as well as for their work as healing practitioners. While transmitting a mind and heart expanding vision, this book remains deeply relatable and invitingly accessible. The generosity of spirit that Michelle exemplifies, in her being and through this work, helps to light the path for the rest of us upon its way.
P.S. Recently, I heard from a couple of you that you that over the years you reply to my blog posts through the email you receive from trustpsyche. I DO NOT receive those emails from you. To contact me you must send an email directly to Jessica@trustpsyche.com. I would hate to miss anything from you, so please send all communication directly to my email. Thank you!
Today, January 12th, 2020, is the day so many are talking about. There is a great buzz flying about. Saturn and Pluto have made their exact conjunction (meaning same place in the sky) in the sign of Capricorn, which is ruled by the planet Saturn.
I created this YouTube video last May of 2019 to discuss my understanding, personally and collectively, of this rare planetary alignment. The last time it occurred was in the sign of Libra from 1981-84, meaning Saturn and Pluto make a conjunction roughly every 35-38 years for 3-4 years at a time. It is a longer cycle of time, with both Saturn and Pluto being outer planets, which indicates they are slower moving planets (hence why they come together so rarely and last as long as they do).
It is very important to remember that although most astrologers are focusing on this first exactitude of Saturn and Pluto occurring today, the two planets have been within range of one another for all of 2019 and even back into 2018. This planetary pair will continue to be conjunct the rest of 2020 and fade out into 2021.
Lastly, and I cannot stress this enough, it is much more helpful in understanding this alignment, both for the world and for yourself, if you take in the larger archetypal wave form of Saturn conjunct Pluto already active before today. Your personal life events in correlation to this cycle of time, seen in the coming together of these two celestial bodies, will make more sense in the larger context of what has happened this past year in light of the themes associated with the alignment. Focusing on the day the planets become exact is a ritual of sorts, however, only focusing on today or this month of January as the conjunction beginning is a very (masculine) pointillistic penetration of this moment in time as somehow separate from the days, weeks, and months of this archetypal wave form coming into collective consciousness over the entire past year and even further back.
To be clear, I am in full support of honoring and ritualizing today, January 12, 2020 as the first exact zero degree alignment of these two planets. As a matter of fact, I am on my way now into ceremony. However, I am not at all in agreement that this alignment somehow began today, this month, or even in the very near past. I believe viewing the world transits in such an atomistic manner (with small orbs of influence) comes from an old order of astrological practicer that is not the most helpful in making meaning of both our personal stories and the zeitgeist in correlation to the night sky. This overemphasis on exactitude is like opening to the middle of a book and thinking that that scene can somehow be understood independent of the context of the entire work; or it is like considering the climax of orgasm as all there really is to love-making. Can the climax of anything be understood apart from the build-up and follow-through? Seeing the unfolding of time in a more fluid, wavelike way is much more of a feminine understanding of time (transits) and helps me understand my life in a more relational, coherent, and cohesive way. I will have much more to say about this in my upcoming trustpsyche podcast: Stream.
In the meantime, I send all blessings and prayers for you in this glorious New Year and decade.
How does the world relate to the divine? Plato proposes the doctrine of participation to describe this complex relationship in which divinity is both a part of the world and yet apart from it. Participation gives rise to philosophical problems and enigmas that are only fully resolved in the course of a 1200-year evolution culminating in the work of Maximus the Confessor. Travis traces this history of ideas and then explores how the participatory relationship with the divine may serve as a template for our relationships with each other.
We salute Dr. Travis DiRuzza for an excellent defense and passing with flying colors. He received the highest kudos from his committee. We hope you enjoy watching Travis share some of his very important work for our times.
Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen, Trans Folk, and Humans of all Kind(s),

I also hear there will be a fascinating and original discussion of participation, archetypes, and astrology in this defense. Travis’ dissertation already has raving reviews. See you there~!
Today marks the first day of Mercury retrograde in Scorpio. Mercury moves from 27 degrees to 11 degrees of Scorpio for the first three weeks of November. This is a time of reviewing, revisioning, and reforming your relationship to the shared resources in your life – property, deeds, money, anything of high value in your life and to power – sex, sexuality, how you use your libidinal creative life force energy and your shakti power. Mercury is moving through the shadowy realms, unveiling your truest desires and all that keeps you from expressing them with clarity. Distortions from our past, especially in our relationships, are being peeled away during this time.
Please join us this Sunday, November 3rd from 2-3:30PM Eastern Time for Kerri Welch’s free livestream on fractals in astrology. Kerri is a teacher, astrologer, and has devoted her scholarship to time, physics, and fractal consciousness. It will be splendid.
Kerri is a philosopher of time, mind, and physics, a professor, writer, and astrologer. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Religion concentrating in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness from California Institute of Integral Studies, where she teaches courses on sacred geometry, modern physics, and the science of temporal perception. Her book-in-progress, The Texture of Time, explores the science of temporal perception against a backdrop personal narrative, interweaving themes of Austin’s natural and cultural history within the larger layers of the evolution of consciousness, neurochemistry, and the physics of time.
In this talk, Kerri will discuss the cycling cosmos overhead, to the ebb and flow of churning creeks, to sleeps, blinks, breaths, heartbeats, and fleeting thoughts, as we exist amidst a vast range of timescales.
We burn at a controlled 98 degrees Fahrenheit, an organized flow of energy, standing still in a moving stream. Here, we create time, with all its loops and twists, hurries and sighs, ploddings and alacrities, magic and misery. This lecture will wind a path through the realms of philosophy, modern physics, neurochemistry, and astrology, exploring what science can tell us about how time emerges through a consciousness in, and of, the cosmos.
